Steps to Print Envelopes from the Second Tray on a Ricoh MFP
Prepare the Envelopes and Load the Second Tray #
Open the second tray (Tray 2) on the Ricoh MFP.
Place the envelopes flap-side up, facing the correct direction according to your printer’s recommended orientation (usually short edge first).
Ensure the paper guides are snug to the edges of the envelopes to prevent jams or skewing.
Configure the Tray Settings on the MFP Panel #
On the copier’s touchscreen panel, go to:
Tray Settings → Paper Size/Paper Type.
Set the paper size to the appropriate envelope size (e.g., #10 Envelope or C5).
Set the paper type to Envelope (this tells the printer to adjust settings for thicker media).
Adjust the Print Driver Settings on Your Computer #
When printing from your computer:
Open the document you want to print.
Go to File → Print → Select the Ricoh MFP printer.
Click Printer Properties (or Preferences).
Under Paper/Output, select Tray 2 as the paper source.
Set the Paper Size to the same envelope size you selected on the MFP panel (e.g., #10 Envelope).
Set Paper Type to Envelope.
Enable Bypass Mode (if Necessary) #
Some Ricoh models may need Bypass Mode for non-standard media.
Enable it through the Tray or Job Preset Settings.
Look for an option such as Envelope Printing Mode.
Print the Envelope #
Return to the print dialog and press Print.
Monitor the copier for any prompts—some models may require you to confirm the paper type or size during the print job.
Check for Jams or Skewing Issues #
If the envelope doesn’t feed correctly, ensure:
The paper guides are aligned.
The flap isn’t causing obstruction.
Use recommended envelope types (avoid thick or embossed envelopes).
