How long have you worked at BDS?
I’ve been with BDS for two years.
Three words/phrases to describe your role
Empower, Elevate, and Connect
With the previous company I worked for, the VP of Finance said I connect the dots and quite frankly that is exactly what an enablement role is.
Can you tell us more about your role, and what you like most about it?
I love the people. I have a lot of fun with the people I interact with. There’s a tremendous amount of appreciation and respect for those who didn’t work in the industry and are still ramping up on the skills needed to really accelerate in the industry. They also help me translate the knowledge I have and align it with the requirements needed to be successful in this industry.
What is something that most people at BDS do not know about you?
I am one of 6 kids that grew up on a farm. We had pigs, goats, chickens, horses, and cows. I really loved that lifestyle and showed horses when I was young, particularly showing western pleasure. I think a lot of people don’t expect to hear that farm girl background. I’m also an avid sports fan, all of my children played hockey, and I even started a women’s hockey program when my kids were young. We had a lot of fun with that.
How would you describe your personality?
I would say #deep. I have a lot of deep and philosophical thoughts. A lot of ways in which I spend my life thinking and becoming grounded with the earth and things I love the most.
Where is your happy place?
Any place my family is and the ocean.
What’s one thing you cannot live without?
I can’t live without chocolate. Sorry. I go a couple days and send my husband out to get me some more.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
Fundamentally, I believe in alignment. I always used to say to my boys’ body, heart, soul. If you aren’t feeling well, something’s out of alignment so spend your time finding that alignment so your heart, body, mind, and soul is happy, healthy, and understanding of the world around you.
What do you like best about BDS?
The beginning stages of growth are so transformative. It’s so exciting to be a part of this. Particularly how the executive leaders are open with how they can support the growth and transformation effectively. I think we are a small business with a big attitude and I love that about this company.
